This great patch, from http://people.canonical.com/~sforshee/alps-touchpad/psmouse-alps-0.10/
has been merged on linux-next by input team (I guess), seems that is avalable on kernel 3.3-rc1.
Fedora already backported to kernels of F-15 and F-16, since kernel-3.1.5-2.fc16.x86_64.
and we got ALPS working and detect with synclient:

synclient VertTwoFingerScroll=1
synclient HorizTwoFingerScroll=1
synclient VertEdgeScroll=1
synclient HorizEdgeScroll=1
synclient -l | grep -i scroll
 
Now, just left documentation, how to build a custom kernel in Fedora, using mock ...
